Caramel has three syllables.

Say it with me: Car-A-mel. Car-A-mel. Car-A-mel.

Caramel, as you should have noted already, has an A in the middle. It is NOT “carmel.”

With the coming of fall and more coffee shops and other food places offering more varieties of caramel-flavored drinks and foods, consider this a public service announcement, for I shall surely snap if I see “carmel” [sic] in too many more tweets or status updates.
