An anniversary is something that happens once a year. After all, the Latin root annus means “year.”

This means that one cannot celebrate a weekly or monthly anniversary. You have to wait the full 12 months / 52 weeks / 365 (or 366) days. If you’re in a new relationship and celebrating one month, two months, three months, etc. together, I’m happy for you, but it’s still not an anniversary.
